National Playlist Day
18 September 2026

This National Playlist Day, we’d love you to create the unique soundtrack of your life with music that is meaningful. We want to encourage everyone in the UK to make their own personal playlists while raising awareness of how much music is benefitting thousands of people living with dementia in the UK.

National Playlist Day through the years

Hundreds of memories shared. Thousands of playlists made. Countless connections through meaningful music.

National Playlist Day was founded in 2022 to shine a light on the impact a playlist of meaningful songs can have for people living with dementia. Each year, this vital awareness campaign has grown with supporters across the UK inspired to share the soundtrack of their life.

From fundraising concerts and pop-up gigs with The Twilight Sad and The Bluebells to creating music-themed murals with local artists and people living with dementia, we’ve brought people together through the power of song. With moving features on BBC Breakfast with Lived Experience Ambassadors and Celebrity Ambassador Sir Alex Ferguson, we have shared the life-changing impact of personal playlists with millions of viewers.
